Tire Industry

A special magnetic inductive steel cord inspection system was developed for testing steel cord webs prior to the buildup of radial tires in order to detect so-called spacing faults early at the cutting and splicing operation.

The Steel Cord Inspection System SIS XP features substantial improvements in comparison to the older model SIS. The new sensors are 120 mm wide and in comparison to only 20 mm of the older sensors. Up to  eight sensors can be connected via modules to the central analysis unit. This makes it possible to monitor practically the whole widths of the steel cord web.

With the latest product SCS20 Roland supports the tire manufacturers with modern magnetic sensor technology to determin the real EPI values. The high speed digitals signal processing allows a reliable steel cord analysis. Another operation mode of the SCS20 allows to count the wires while uncoiling the material.
