Roland SIS Vision – the magic eyes in steel cord

In a project funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, Roland Electronic GmbH is developing innovative new ways of online quality monitoring on steel cord cutting lines used in tire production. With a new type of high-resolution magnetic field sensor, the wire distances, offset and EPDM/EPI inside the rubber will be reliably monitored at full production speed. Philipp Rott has a degree in Electrical Engineering majoring in sensor technology from the University of Applied Sciences, Karlsruhe, Germany. He joined ROLAND ELECTRONIC in 2011 as a hardware and software developer of magnetic-based sensor systems for metal sheet and tube processing in the Automotive Industry and especially for the tire production process. After more than eight years in R&D as well as commissioning training of the highly specialized steel cord inspection systems, he is the prime mover and project leader of the SIS Vision team.

On Tuesday, February 25th, 2020 Philipp Rott will perform a presentation on this exciting project at the Tire manufacturing technology exhibition Tire Technology 2020 in Hannover / Germany, within Stream 4 "New Developments in Steel and Non-Steel Cord Reinforcement". His presentation is hold in English: "Roland SIS Vision - the magic eyes in steel cord". For further details go to https://www.tiretechnology-expo.com/en/conference-programme.php
