2026 – Hope for an Economic Upswing Continues …
Marcus Bartle on the entrepreneurial challenges that the year 2026 brings.
Germany is experiencing its longest recession in more than 20 years. Business expectations among German companies remain at a low level — even after well over 100 days with a new federal government, it must be stated that, at least for now, no positive results are yet evident that would have a tangible impact on companies and their employees.
Well — economic recovery does not come from talking!
It is understandable that many fellow entrepreneurs I meet are not looking to the future in Germany with confidence. The period of necessary cost-cutting measures has dragged on for too long, as has the extremely tough competition for a limited number of orders, the ever-increasing bureaucracy, high energy costs, and political ineptitude. Many are considering relocating, downsizing, or even closing their businesses altogether.
A perfectly understandable path for all those who have already exhausted every possible option.
ROLAND Electronic GmbH recognized the signs of the times at an early stage. Alongside cost-saving measures, we implemented efficiency improvement projects with a sense of proportion, prepared ourselves for future requirements with a completely revised product portfolio, and were able to carry out the necessary changes thanks to our flexible, loyal, and highly motivated employees.
I wish our customers, partners, and business associates the strength to implement the necessary changes as well, the confidence that we can continue to be successful in the future, and the ability to use our shared experience to strengthen the SME sector in particular.
Economic recovery comes from taking action!
