L20 - Dual head Double Sheet Control System for metals and non metal materials Laser based function principle

Our new innovative Double Sheet Control system is based on classical laser sensors, which works according to the principle of triangulation.
Appropriate laser sensors were adapted in such a way by Roland Electronic, so that for the first time a complete monitoring of the measuring system is possible.

Therefore it was necessary to develop a method and a device, which always makes the laser beam and its adjustment controllable. The solution consists of an integrated photo receiver without any disturbance of the laser beam.

Advantage

Double sheets can be monitored with maximum process reliability and maintenance-free.
Due to the laser measuring technique the system is suitable for all opaque materials with a single sheet respectively a layer thickness from 0.3 to 15 mm (.012 to .590 in). It is insignificant whether the material stands still or is transported during the measurement process.

Sensor system LAAS40+ and LAARS40+

A sensor system LAAS40+ contains two laser distance sensors LAS40 and LAS40+, which are easily installed with a mounting kit and without the usual time-consuming adjusting of the laser beams. The laser distance sensor LAS40+ has a photo element for reliable monitoring of the laser function.

This allows an outstanding process reliability, since a contamination or a misalignment of the laser is reliably detected.
A higher reliability in measurement and control process is offered by the sensor system LAARS40+, which is equipped additionally with a laser sensor LRS40 to control the mounting gap of the two measuring sensors. This is useful for construction equipment parts placed out far, since deviations of steel components caused either thermally or mechanically are not always avoidable.

Both sensor systems have an air connection, to ensure an automated cleaning of the lower mounted sensor with dry and oil-free air. Both sensor systems can be connected with the corresponding control unit L20. The integrated real time computer calculates and monitors the material thickness and can output the results over the integrated fieldbus. The control unit is delivered with all common fieldbus interfaces.
