The production of metal packages - food and beverage cans, drums and other general containers - is accomplished in a multistage manufacturing process. In most of these cutting and forming lines double sheet detection systems are an absolutely necessary investment. This applies equally well to metal sheet printing lines just as to scroll shears and welding machines for three-piece cans or all types of lid presses. The presence verification of pull tabs and tear flaps of beverage and food cans are the special challenge.

Metal Sheet printing press

During the imprinting of sheets the imprint can become faulty or in the worst case it can cause damage to the system if more than one sheet is passed. For that reason a double sheet detection system before the press is very important.

Can lid stamping press

During the production of can lids, it is essential that there is no weld seam in the individual lids. On the one hand, this can lead to the finished can leaking, and on the other hand, a seam would also be visually unattractive.

With the ROLAND ELECTRONIC weld seam detection, the weld seams can be reliably detected so that they can be removed before further processing.

Silk screening machine

If possible the print should be always in the same position. Further it is important to not print on the weld seam, because it cannot be applied properly. Therefore the position of the weld seam must be detected before the silk screening, so that the drums can be rotated in the defined position.
